How to Recover Usernames and Passwords from Firefox 3 - Easy Hack
07.27.08 (4:36 am)   [edit]

Firefox 3 usernames

If your a distrusting girlfriend who wants to steal their boyfriends myspace password, then this is the perfect hack for you. It also comes in handy when your password has just simply slipped your mind. This hack is so easy, your grandma could do it!

There's a little known way to get usernames and passwords from Firefox 3 browsers. Firefox 3 saves all your usernames and passwords which can be looked at by anyone with access to your computer. Firefox 3 saves these passwords for good intentions, to auto log you into websites, but lord knows a lot of boyfriends/girlfriends are going to get caught cheating by their stalker gf/bf with this technique.

Step One: Go to Tools, then click Options

Step Two: Click the Security tab

Step Three: Click Saved Passwords, a screen will then appear that lists websites and the usernames it has saved for them.

Step Four:  Click Show Passwords. Then record the username(s) and password(s) you need. An easy way to record the usernames and passwords would be to take a screenshot.

Get Involved In The Cisco Learning Network
07.24.08 (4:01 am)   [edit]

CiscoNow-of-days, getting a Cisco certification is essential if you want to be able to create and manage advanced networks. No business is going to care if you know how to hook up a Linksys router unless it's your local Geek Squad. Cisco routers are the fastest, most advanced, commonly used routers today. If you dream of being the network admin of a high-speed network then your going to have to get Cisco certified. Currently im going for my A.S.(Assosciates in Science) in Computer Engineering and im required to get a Cisco certification before I can evene receive it. Thats how important it is and im very much looking forward to learning as much as I can about the capabilities, benefits, and importance of Cisco systems.

The first step to receiving your CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) is by getting your CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician) certification. Just because it's a entry-level certification doesn't mean it's worthless. It will give you the skill to operate and troubleshoot a small enterprise network, and the skills to do basic network security. You can then take those skills to get a entry-level network position such as a network admin or network analyst position. This shouldn't be your last step though. You should go on to get your CCNA before someone with one comes along with enough skill to prove to your boss that your replaceable. It's called 'career growth' and it's the key to success. Besides, having a CCNA will boost your credibility tremendously.

Your iPhone is Vulnerable to Phishing Scams by Hackers
07.24.08 (3:03 am)   [edit]

iPhone Safari web browser Apple has made a huge mistake that should of been corrected before they sold millions of iPhones. A technique called URL spoofing, has been a favorite exploit among identity thieves aka phishers, for years, even prior to the release of the iPhone.

There are two applications on the iPhone that phishers can use to trick unsuspecting users. The URL spoofing vulnerability exists in iPhone's mailing and safari application. The only way users can protect themselves until Apple releases a fix is to manually enter in website addresses into the Safari browser.

You can read more about Apple's blunder by reading 'Iphone vulnerable to hack attacks' written by Aharon Etengoff: Thursday, 24 July 2008.

How to Reset Your Windows Password
07.21.08 (10:50 pm)   [edit]

Windows Password recovery softwareHave you forgot your Windows password? You don't have to reinstall the whole operating system. Theirs software available that will allow you to reset or recover your Windows Password. It's really quite easy to use, any one can do it.

First you'll need to find bootable software that will reset or recover your password like the kind that Passware.com offers. It's probably the most extensive and easy to use password recovery kit that will work on every version of Windows, even server editions. All you do is start up the software and it will walk you threw a few steps to make a bootable disk, CD, or even USB that you just stick in your PC while it's booting up and it will reset the password.

Can You Even Trust Your Own PC?
07.21.08 (10:22 pm)   [edit]

spyThe simple answer is no, you can't trust your computer. A recent article written by Richard Stallman called 'Can You Trust Your Computer?' inspired me to write about this subject, which Im ashamed to say, I've known about for along time. Did you know that Kazaa, the music sharing software, has a partner that it leases remote access to Kazaa users for their business's clients? There's no telling what kind of personal information that they've gotten their hands on. Maybe some of that junk mail in your inbox and mailbox is thanks to them.

This whole problem with proprietary software designed for malicious purposes could simply be solved by sharing the source code to the programming community to be analyzed. That's precisely what's been going on in the free software community but it's being done to a much less extent with for-profit software. Furthermore, anyone who didn't hide behind a company name who did things like this would be called a hacker, or worst cyber terrorist, and be immediately sent to jail. Why have the big corporations been able to avoid such criminal charges?

Did you know things are about to get much worse? Their actually designing chips for malicious purposes now over at an organization called 'Trusted Computing', but it really should be called Treacherous Computing. These chips will be able to directly control your PC's hardware, completely. The things they can do with these chips are endless. They could restrict certain programs, files, documents, from being accessed by you. One thing they're planning to do which I think is very treacherous is that their planning on making files unique to each PC by encryption. This means you can't take your mp3's off your PC and play them on your iPod. It will also make it so you can't copy files over to another PC, they simply wouldn't work on another PC.

What's even more concerning about this whole thing is that the EFF is involved and they would only get involved if theirs enough facts to prove 'Trusted Computing' is trying to break laws or infringe on your rights for malicious purposes.

Why It's Time to Upgrade to Windows Vista
07.17.08 (7:04 pm)   [edit]

Windows Security Tighter than EverIf you haven't upgraded to Windows Vista yet then what are you waiting for? It's time to upgrade to Windows Vista and let me tell you why.

For one, Vista users get the benefit of experiencing a Windows that's more secure than it's ever been before. Vista can protect itself from hackers more than twice as well as previous versions, all without the help of third party software. Not only does Vista make internet activities much safer it also improves the security of Windows applications, which is something unix based operating systems can't seem to do as well with their applications. The worst thing that could ever happen to your business or you is to have it's information electronically stolen by identity thieves. Windows has proven with Vista that it's fighting hard to protect us from those thieves, and that's what a operating system should put a lot of it's energy into.

Second, this one is important for me, Microsoft is the only software company that has ever given me satisfactory customer service, and that's something everyone should learn to respect about Microsoft. Some of us may remember with Windows XP home version how you could only install it on three computers. Well, Im the type of person that doesn't mind to spend a bit of money on my computer. So long story short, I used up the license pretty quickly. I gave Microsoft a jingle and in less than 2 mins they were reading me off a new CD-key to use, no hassle, no stress, I came in ready to argue if I needed to but I was immediately killed with kindness. Well with Vista they've included that support plus more. You can now talk with Windows Vista Specialist so you can talk to one person who can solve all your problems with Vista. These specialists are available from 10am to 7pm, pacific time, at 866-613-0270.

07.06.08 (4:27 am)   [edit]

VLC media player snapshotVLC Media Player version 0.8.6h for Windows contains a vulnerability which can be used to execute arbitrary code. This vulnerability works by exploiting the "Open()" function in modules/demux/wav.c. A hacker can use a specially crafted WAV file to exploit this function to execute their trojans, viruses, spyware, keyloggers, and whatever other kind of malware they want.

Thankfully a update is beening released, so everyone can protect themselves simply by updating to version 0.8.6i. You can download the update at their website and even download VLC media player's source code if you want to examine it.
