Don't Feel Like Your Stuck With Your Web Hosting Company
08.21.08 (5:07 am)   [edit]

web hostingNot getting what you want out of your web hosting company? Then switch over to web hosting company before they hit you with another bill for their crappy service! Don't put up with it, make the switch. Need a reason to leave a web hosting company? Let me give you some good ones.

Low bandwidth is one reason why you should make the switch. No one should have to put up with excessive load times. It's the 21st century now, that's what everyone expects! If you have a website and your paying for web hosting then your probably expecting to get at least some kind of return on the website, at least enough to pay the hosting bill. It is a well known now that search engines lower the search rankings of slow loading websites, which means less visitors. So make a good web hosting choice and make the switch if your website is experiencing slow load times.

Another big one for me is security. If your web hosting company's server is always getting hacked then switch immediately. The search engines don't like to rank websites that get infected a lot well and if they do they warn people not to visit them because they contain harmful code that could infect you with a virus.

A good specification to check when shopping around is the bandwidth limit. If your serious about making a constantly growing website then your going to need a plan with a high bandwidth limit or one that will let you upgrade the limit for cheap.

A New Break-Through in Battery Technology
08.21.08 (4:40 am)   [edit]

The next high-tech cellphone or other micro-device may use batteries half the size of a human cell and built by a virus.

Researchers at MIT have created the future in battery technology using a biological organism. MIT's new micro battery is actually assembled by a virus that has had it's genes altered to leave a protein coat that will act like a anode by creating ultra-thin wires. They call it their 'viral assembly method'.

Sound unbelievable? Then read more about MIT's virus battery. This technology is exactly what the 21st century needs.

How to Save Money On Your Next Electronics Purchase
08.11.08 (2:19 pm)   [edit]

PCBeing a smart consumer is an important thing. When you shop around for quality as well as price businesses notice that and start developing their products as well as making them cheaper. Cheap, high quality products are good for the economy and helps keep inflation down. The best example of this is personal computer. Customers demand constantly improving products at low affordable prices, which has caused the price of personal computers to go down dramatically.

One way to be a smart consumer is to look for discounts and coupons. Thanks to the internet finding deals online is easier than ever before, there is absolutely no excuse for not shopping smart now of days.

Say I wanted to buy some office supplies for my home office. First, I would go to a coupon and discount announcement website like 1-coupons.com to have a look around. So here I go, Im taking a look around and immediately I find a coupon that will give me free shipping on online HP product purchases and $672 dollars off a xw45550 workstation. In just ten seconds I've already found a way to save myself over six hundred dollars on something that would truly be a valuable investment for even a small business. Now I turn over to my list of Wal-mart clearance links, promotions, and coupon offers. This is definately a list everyone could use, I'd estimate it would save American consumers over a half a billion dollars a year If everyone of them used just my Wal-mart clearance links. Another good link you should bookmark would be the Dell coupon page. The next time you decide you need a new computer just go to that bookmark to save hundreds on your next PC.

If you own a business then you also want to bookmark the Vista Print coupon page when you need new business cards or to order custom rubber stamps and self inking stampers. I always go to that page before I buy business cards because there's always a coupon for 75% off business cards from Vista Print. Just that alone saves a lot of money.

08.09.08 (5:56 pm)   [edit]

SearchSearch engines are everywhere now. We've been using them for along time to locate websites but today, more than ever before, their being used to shop around and locate products. Dealtime.co.uk is a company that's quickly learning the power of locating products with search engines. Their search engine is designed to aid consumers in finding the products they need at the price they want. Visitors are quickly learning this is the way to go, not only does it save them a lot of money, but it also creates a media for small businesses to compete with bigger business, which drives prices down and we all know that benefits everyone.

As an example, if your hoping to Buy Office Furniture for a new computer business, you can use the internet to locate the exact computer workstation that fits your requirements without wasting more than a few minutes of your time. No matter what your specifications are, space-saving, professional looking, fully equipped, you'll have no problem finding it using a product search engine like Dealtime.co.uk to locate it.

Passports Less Secure Than Ever
08.09.08 (5:20 pm)   [edit]

RFID Virus and Worms

The new RFID e-passports being used in the UK, the US, and eight other countries are less secure than they have ever been before. Hackers and criminals can easily read your passport information wirelessly, and much more all at a distance without even touching your passport.

For along time now we've known that RFID worms and viruses exist. RFID chips have been used to hack into supermarket databases and other places that use RFID's on their items. They have even been used to hack into veterinary databases that scan pet-tags. For an example a hacker could go to Wal-mart, buy something, bring it home to infect the RFID chip with the worm, then go back to the store and buy it again; but this time the worm infects the stores database and installs the hackers malicious software. So why are we still using RFID chips?

On July 29th, 2008 there were 3,000 blank British passports that were stolen. These are obviously going to be used to copy information stolen from other peoples passports onto the blank stolen passports. Copying the information onto blank passports would be a super easy task that can be done by anyone with free software available online. This is obviously an identity theft crime ring because anyone with basic knowledge of RFID technology can create their own from RFID chips at Radio Shack, which is much easier than stealing a van.

Just to add to my burden of proof, there was a article from the UK Time's Online where they reported that a computer researcher from the University of Amsterdam was able to clone the information on two passports instantly. He then implanted digital images of Osama bin Laden and a suicide bomber into two British passports in minutes.

For some reason all this news gets me thinking it's not looking to good for the further development of this little guy above, but now I'm just babbling.

Gadgets That Help You Do Better In School
08.07.08 (9:20 am)   [edit]

Technology has been used since the beginning of time to help educate our children and ourselves. Technology is all around us, it's even the chairs we sit on. Now-a-days there's so much technology we take it for granted. There's rulers, paper, pencils, binders, backpacks, light bulbs, projectors, computers, and much more technology that we never think twice about.

So what's going to be the next gadget to be unveiled for students? Perhaps a electronic cheat sheet?

The newest gadget for student that seems to be making it's way into the class room for good is the pocket labeler. Organization is the key to being prepared while in class. When your organized things go a lot faster, and much smoother. That's why the pocket labeler is becoming such a key utility.

One thing we had a problem with in school was with people stealing books. It was a problem because If you lost your book you had to pay around a hundred bucks for it. That's why the kids would steal each others books. With a pocket labeler my school could of had a much easier time keeping track of the books If everyone labeled their book. Another place where it could come in handy is in your binder. Color labels are a good way to organize papers even further into categories. You could use the different colors to represent the class, then you could write on the label to make sub-categories.

Keyword Rich Domain Names
08.04.08 (10:31 am)   [edit]

domain namesA keyword rich domain name is a website address that includes keywords that you want people to find you in the search engines for. For example if you were selling puppy collars, then you'd want the domain name puppycollars.com.

When the internet first came out, there were no search engines. To find website's you would first need to know the URL, or find a link from another website. So businesses relied on using their business name for people to find them. For example Nissan immediately bought the domain nissan.com. Their called keyword domains. Ironically, a lot of people still rely on this method for finding websites, but thats not the only reason it's important to have a good domain name.

If your a local business then it's good to use geographic domains, like PhoenixLawyer.com or TexasRanch.com. The search engines can tell where people are searching from, if you use a geographic domain like the ones above then your website will be found easier by local internet users.

Domain investing is important if you want to get your business out on the net. Most of the good domains have been bought up, like real estate, to be resold. Investing in a good domain name is important to being successful online. Buying, making, and selling domains is also domain investing; which some people find is a good business. If you want to get into that kind of business then you need to learn about domain developement.

IT Professionals More Likely To Need Glasses
08.03.08 (8:39 am)   [edit]

stylish eyeglassesDid you know that research has revealed that 72% of IT workers need glasses? A website called theitjob.com ran the study. They tested their IT staff and found that about three quarters are blind as bats. They say the main reason for this is that IT workers are more likely to strain their eyes by spending too much time on the computer. Not only do they use the computer all day at work, they come home and hop on their personal PC too.

Famous geeks like Bill Gates all wear glasses, and now we know why. The rumor that people who wear glasses are geeks is busted. Don't suffer with bad eyesight just because you don't want to look like a geek, get a pair of glasses!

A good place to pick up a pair of inexpensive glasses is ZenniOptical.com; I've seen these guys on Fox News their legit. They sell eyeglasses starting as low as eight dollars. They have a huge selection of glasses that I think are quite stylish. Don't waste your money are so called name brand glasses that cost hundreds of dollars. Pick up a pair of affordable, durable, eyeglasses and finally stop squinting like a fool. To learn more about Zenni visit this blog post.
