Save money at Tiger Direct with coupons
09.06.08 (11:23 pm)   [edit]

Intel CPUMost of you who read my blog have probably shopped at Tiger Direct before. Heck, I just bought an external hard drive from them three weeks ago. Did you know that their now offering coupons and promotional codes? You can find most of their coupons at www.1-coupons.com/coupons/tiger-direct.htm.Their currently offering discounts on Intel and Amd processors, so If your about to upgrade your CPU then be sure to grab that coupon. In fact, before you buy anything be sure to check out that site for coupons. There hasn't been one electronics purchase I haven't been able to save money on since I been checking that website.

Tiger Direct isn't the only merchant on their site though. They also have coupons that Circuit City distributes. Their always offering 25% off digital cameras or some other electronic devices. Their also the place to check before you buy a brand new pre-manufactored PC. Everytime I check theirs a coupon for hundreds off of Dell computers.

Another interesting coupon I've ran across is one that Apple is offering. Their giving away a free iPod touch or iPod nano to anyone who purchases a Mac PC from their store. Also, be sure to check that link for a coupon for iPods or iPhones before you buy one if you want to save a lot.

Common College Application Mistakes to Avoid
09.06.08 (8:46 pm)   [edit]

CollegeSo you want to be a computer engineer or network administrator. You think your ready to step into the IT field? Did you prepare your college application yet? Do you even know how to apply to the college you want? Besides having these important things covered you should also avoid these five common mistakes made on a college application.

Always triple check your college application. You want to look for grammatical errors such as misspelled words and incomplete or run-on sentences. By avoiding grammatical errors you will leave a good impression while making your application easier to read. You can also ask others for their opinion on different things you should change or add.

Never leave your college application incompleted. The biggest headache you could ever have is finding out later that you need to go through the process all over again. Get it done right the first time. Read all the instructions carefully.

Always try to use your best handwriting. If you can, type the application. When you write ineligibly it gives the impression that you are careless, or simply that you don't pay attention to details.

Don't use inappropriate emails. If you don't have an appropriately named email then make a email with your ISP with your name in it just for applying to colleges. This will leave a better impression than an email like '420stonerpimp@pot.com' or 'touchme69ways@***.com'.

If your heart's set on making it into a university then your going to need to apply to more college than one. Even if you have a 3.0 some universities won't take you unless they have empty chairs open in the type of classes you want. For example this semester the University Central Florida was only accepting freshmen students with a GPA of 3.5+. So apply to more than one university and settle for the best one that will accept you. Get help with the college application process from CollegeZapps if you want to appear your best and get it over with quick.

VMware COM API Remote Buffer Overflow Exploit
09.06.08 (8:22 pm)   [edit]
Milw0rmA hacker named Shinnai has just release a proof of concept exploit that verifies a remote buffer overflow exploit in the VMware COM ActiveX API. This exploit allows a hacker to execute arbitrary code on your system. So far, it's been tested on Windows XP Professional SP3 all patched, with Internet Explorer 7. Has anyone tested this exploit on IE8 or WIN2K/Vista?
