Is FireFox 2.0 better than IE7 at preventing phishing?
11.23.06 (2:27 am)   [edit]

The two kings of web-browsers have tightened up security on their latest browsers. Something I never heard of in a web browser is protection against phishing sites, sites that look authentic but ask for your personal info just to steal it and not fullfil their service or product delivery promise. So I did some research for you guys and found this news report.

Here are the results...

"Firefox blocked 243 phishing sites that IE7 overlooked, while IE7 blocked 117 sites that Firefox did not."

FireFox wins :X Microsoft got pwned by a small fry :P

Watch out kinghavoc ... you are being spammed ...

Anyway, you cannot judge who is best only according to phishing. What about vulnerabilities?

Nope you can't but who knows how many vulnerabilities are truly out there. There are easily thousands if nots tens or hundreds of thousands of 0day exploit groups who write exploit code that only gets shared among their group. Let alone the tens of thousands of lone hackers that write their own exploit code.
