Your iPhone is Vulnerable to Phishing Scams by Hackers
07.24.08 (3:03 am)   [edit]

iPhone Safari web browser Apple has made a huge mistake that should of been corrected before they sold millions of iPhones. A technique called URL spoofing, has been a favorite exploit among identity thieves aka phishers, for years, even prior to the release of the iPhone.

There are two applications on the iPhone that phishers can use to trick unsuspecting users. The URL spoofing vulnerability exists in iPhone's mailing and safari application. The only way users can protect themselves until Apple releases a fix is to manually enter in website addresses into the Safari browser.

You can read more about Apple's blunder by reading 'Iphone vulnerable to hack attacks' written by Aharon Etengoff: Thursday, 24 July 2008.
