Internet Service Provider Information
08.22.08 (8:30 pm)   [edit]

SatelliteChoosing the right internet service provider for your needs can be a difficult choice if you don't have much information to go on. I'm going to walk you through both the pros and cons of each type of ISP.

Dialup internet access is the least expensive option you have. Although, this is also the slowest option. If one of your big concerns is saving money then dialup is a good option for people who just want to surf the internet and write emails. Just to for warn you though, it isn't fast enough to share the connection with other PC's in your home or to play online multiplayer games on.

DSL internet service is great for gamers. DSL internet access keeps your latency to a minimum which improves the reaction time in online games.

Cable internet service is best for people who like to download large files. Cable provides more bandwidth for the money and can even handle online games very well.

Satellite internet service is the best option for people in rural areas who can only get dialup or those who want to be able to use the internet on the go. It may not always be good for online games, ecspecially if its cloudy, but it can handle anything else with ease. Hughes satellite internet access is the most commonly used satelite ISP for home and business users.
