FCC Gives It's Support for White Space Devices
10.15.08 (5:38 pm)   [edit]
FCCThe FCC today has given it's support for new broadband technology that will utilize white spaces. White spaces are the unregulated spectrum that will no longer be in use by February of 2009 since all the broadcast TV stations will no longer transmit their TV signals in analog, but in digital. To prevent interference, base stations would be limited to transmit at only 4 watts and white space devices, such as receivers, will also have a limited antenna strength.
