What Are .MDF Files?
10.17.08 (12:07 am)   [edit]

CDFiles with the .mdf extension are exclusively made by the CD/DVD editor, backup tool, and burner called MagicISO. MagicISO can also clone CD/DVD images using Nero's imaging format (.nrg extension), CloneCD's formats (.IMG,.CCD,.SUB), and the commonly used image formats (BIN,ISO,CUE). Since MagicISO can handle so many different file formats, many users prefer it over other CD/DVD cloners.

The file format .MDF even supports boot images and can copy those images from other image files, such as those made with UltraISO and WinISO. The file format also supports three commonly used file system standards which are Joliet, ISO9660 and UDF. Using the mdf format also gives users the ability to revise the properties of picture files.

Some unique features that .mdf file formats have to offer is the ability to add, edit, delete, and even rename new directories. Another feature is the ability to automatically create a ISO image for a documents instructions. You also get another feature which allows you to generate and retain all of the bootable information from the copied CD or DVD.

MagicISO is the newest, hottest, most cutting edge CD/DVD cloning software on the market today. Instead of using Nero and CloneCD, users can simply use MagicISO for all the same features. Not to mention access to all their file formats.
